This Sunday is Palm Sunday and it begins the Holy Week. The Holy Week is also called the Passion Week. The word "Passion" comes from a Latin word that means suffering. It is an apt way to describe this coming week as we remember the Lord's suffering servant, Jesus, with his crucifixion on Friday, and his resurrection the following Sunday.

Have you ever wondered how Jesus felt being condemned to death, seeing both his friends and strangers turn from him? Psalm 31:9–16 answer our questions. "Be gracious to me, O LORD, for I am in distress; my eye is wasted from grief; my soul and my body also … Because of all my adversaries I have become a reproach, especially to my neighbors, and an object of dread to my acquaintances; those who see me in the street flee from me." Jesus suffered greatly. More over, Jesus suffered greatly for us.

Let us honor Jesus for what he lost in our place, and for what he gained for us. Let us sing and wonder our Savior's great love for us.
