January 15 — 11 AM Worship
You can find the order of worship and songs here.
We live in a beautiful world filled with breathtaking places. We obeserve fascinating interplay between various forces of nature both big and small. Galaxies obey gravitational force at scales we can barely comprehend. Tiny mollusks in the ocean obey just as beautiful and complex laws of physics. In fact, what we often call "breathtaking" is simply a glimpse of God's glory. But this world is also filled with pain. This week flood waters ripped a child out of his mother's arms. Last week people froze to death in the winter storm. This world reminds us that all is not well. What can explain this? The Bible tells us of a good world created by God, now cursed because of man's sins. Pain makes us grieve. Beauty makes us long for healing. Pain and beauty both lead us to Jesus Christ. Jesus is the Architect of this world, and knows better than anyone that all is not well. He is also the Restorer of all things. And one day he will set all things right. Jesus gives us hope. And with hope we worship.
